The hands you don’t see

There’s a particular kind of care in a botanical illustration — the quiet, patient hours of getting a leaf vein or a shadow just right.

That care makes me equally curious about what happens after a painting leaves my studio, once it becomes a print, a mug, or a card.

I don’t see the hands that make each finished piece, but I think about them all the same. It matters to me that the people printing, packing and shipping each item are working in fair, safe conditions.
