About
Nature is my Greatest Teacher
Gabrielle Marlow
I find inspiration everywhere — in the veins of a leaf, the turn of the seasons, the quiet rhythms of the natural world. Every painting starts the same way: not in the studio, but outside, simply noticing.
Born in the Netherlands and now based in the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, I've spent years travelling through Europe, Africa and Asia. That journey shaped the way I see and paint — giving me a love of botanical illustration, antique textiles and the timeless craftsmanship of the Arts and Crafts movement.
Each piece begins either as a sketch and watercolour painting, or as a digital illustration created in Procreate using watercolour techniques. Whether it begins with paint and paper or unfolds stroke by stroke on screen, each piece is created by hand, from start to finish. Once finished, each design becomes fine art prints, greeting cards, notebooks, botanical gifts and more.
At the heart of it all is a simple belief: nature is the real artist here. I just try to capture a little of its quiet beauty and bring it into everyday life — a moment of calm, a quiet sense of joy, a deeper connection to something real.
Thank you for stopping by my studio. I hope my work brings a little of nature's wonder into your home.
